Details:
Jackpot. Welcome to Selkirk Powder Company, where you’re going to be munching down on some mountains. Mountains of hot, fresh pizza delivered right to the snowcat, that is. Mmmmm.

And if that isn’t enough to satisfy (we would recommend you continue to ride, rather than go comatose in the backseat of the cat), there are 2,000 acres of Selkirk Range to split between yourself and the 9 other ladies and gents sharing your cat, leading to great chances that you’re going to slay some powder here. Guests enjoy 8 to 13 runs per day ranging from shallow 20 degree slopes to hold-on-and-pin-it 50 degree rippers. The average vertical descent is 1,200 feet, with a maximum of 2,200 feet possible, and you can expect between 10,000 and 14,000 feet per day.

Selkirk Powder Company markets itself as a great pit-stop for those heading to BC via the states, or as a fun diversion for those destined for a Schweitzer Resort experience (there could be worse things). That may be a bit self-deprecating, because this place is probably worth a trip on its own, especially if you catch it during a storm. Rentals are available in Schweitzer village, with a range of Armada, Icelantic, Rossignol, Salomon, and Volkl powder ski models to choose from. As always, bring your own boots if you’re planning to rent boards.
