Details:
Guests at San Juan Snowcat will have an epic Colorado
backcountry experience at this self-proclaimed highest snowcat operation in North America. With a peak elevation of 13,250 feet (based at 11,111 feet), you are sure to encounter some great alpine terrain including bowls, chutes, and cornice drops. However, there are also steep and tight tree runs to keep you entertained.
The operation averages 350-450 inches of snow per year, and proudly offers up a snow dance to help convince Ullr to dump on your day of choice (just ask!). 30,000 skiiable acres are available, and guests average 8,000 to 18,000 vertical feet per day on 25-55 degree slopes. The operation holds exclusive rights to the terrain.
Lodging is not available through the the operation itself, but is available in the towns of Creede and South Fork. Additional information regarding lodging is available on San Juan Snowcat Lodging Links page. Rental equipment is not available though the operation but may be available for rent from options in Creede, South Fork, or the nearby Wolf Creek Ski Area.
